A new plan that could allow the creation of small residential studios in existing buildings and some houses will be the subject of county Planning Commission hearings starting in September.
The plan is intended to create new affordable housing options. Because it could allow some single-family houses to increase their rooming capacity by including studios, potentially disrupting existing neighborhoods, the PDC is beginning an expedited review process.
A notice will be sent to all meeting members as soon as a discussion of this initiative is set up. Because of the timing, it is likely to be discussed on a conference call in the next few weeks.
