Dr. Gerald (Jerry) Poje’s Bio

Dr. Jerry Poje is a public health professional with decades of international, national, state and local service designed to build more resilient communities. Dr. Poje currently serves on the executive committee of the Fairfax County Human Services Council and the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee, where he advocates for “Affordable Homes for All.” He has also served on the Boards of FACETS, a non-profit social service and advocacy organization, which seek to end and prevent homelessness in Fairfax County, VA. The Fairfax County Human Rights Commission recognized Dr. Poje as recipient of the county’s Human Rights Award. And the County’s Board of Supervisors recognized Dr. Poje as a “Lord Fairfax” for his many years of community service. Dr. Poje is a Professorial Lecturer in the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health at George Washington University’s School of Public Health where he lectures to graduate students on policy needs, history and development.
